More About Me and KC
(Note: Just read my FAQ and don't waste your time here. ~02/07/2008)I've written over 90 spiteful articles on Kobra's Corner these past few months, and I never really did anything spectacular. I never write articles with the intention of being funny, I just write the exact same way I think and some of the stuff comes out humorous.
While you all may have a decent picture of how I act when annoyed or in a pissy mood, you don't know enough about me to understand where I'm coming from in some of these articles. Since I don't really feel like writing about me (I'd feel to egotistical), what you get is the history of Kobra's Realm and Kobra's Corner.
Like I said, I write the way I think, and right now I'm in a somewhat-serious mood. So, some of you might find this article boring. To that I would point to my disclaimer, and then to my new one (look at the counter message).
Growing up, I was never a popular person. I liked it that way. I saw alot of shallow people who clung to their popularity as a crutch, and I saw them desperately try to mask their own weakness with the sheer number of people who they convince are inferior to them. I saw them use and manipulate people who looked up to them for reasons they created on their own, and hated them for it.
For a while, I was like a typical "Lone Wolf" student, although I never folled the gothic/punk styles (Hell, I didn't have a "style." I did things my own way.) I didn't work well with others because their evident stupidity. I disliked the popular kids for trying to mask their weakness with friends, and I hated the bullies for trying to mask their weakness with agression.
At about the sixth grade, when I reached the point where I knew more in my first week than most students in their last (I say most because there were a few of my peers at about my level in the school), I began studying JavaScript while in my computer class (I already knew HTML). This is the point where I began to study programming extensively.
During the summer after my sixth grade year, I discovered RPG Maker 2000. I eventually found Gaming World and, from there, Dark Dominion. I created Kobra's Realm, and the rest is all history, right?
Nope. There was alot of stuff going on in the background. In the eighth grade, my writing teacher Mrs. Crosby found a drawing I made of all my teachers (I won't give you guys the details about it, it was immature and made them all look evil). Instead of giving out some sort of punishment for a mockery, she told me to pay attention in her class and write something. To humor her, I did as she instructed... sorta. I never really paid attention to what a teacher said, I focused on the material they tried to teach.
As it turns out, as much as I had hated writing prior to that year, I was good at it. Four years prior to this, I was told that writing was very rubric-based. All paragraphs had to follow this format. You needed three (no more, no less) supporting details, and it had to be five paragraphs long. Of course, I had hated the absense of an opportunity for creativity, and neglected to write very much until then.
That year, I made my teacher regret using the words "in your opinion" within essay prompts. If she marks it wrong, I could argue that it is, in fact, my opinion. If she complains about the nature of the essay, she was asking for my opinion and she got it. Safe to say, even though I avoided going to the office, I should have been suspended every two weeks.
That is when it all began. A teacher's decision to try and encourage creativity sparked enough spite and satire to make Maddox raise an eyebrow (Hey, that means alot! He's way too arrogant to do anything more.)
My early writings were posted on Kobra's Realm, but many of them were lost in the server fire, and WayBackMachine has yet to update their listings with more recent versions of the site.
Eventually, I began to move my opinions to a separate section of my website (which I called a "subsite"), and named that section "Kobra's Corner."
