Actor Lane Garrison has been sentenced to 40 months in a California prison for a drunken driving crash that killed a teenage student.
Garrison was driving a 2001 Land Rover when he lost control and rammed a tree in December 2006. The crash killed Vahagn Setian, a Beverly Hills High student, and injured two 15-year-old girls in the car.
Garrison had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving, and was under the influence of cocaine, according to police.
Am I the only person who sees the problem with this?
He was DRINKING and DRIVING. He KILLED a high school student. Why the hell is he going to be free to go after 40 months (roughly 3 and a half years)?! If you or I were to do something like this, we'd have 20 years of prison sex to look forward to.
I'm sick and tired of these bullshit Hollywood actors getting away with murder (literally) just because they're famous (see also Paris Hilton).
What's the point of giving this asshole a 40 month sentence? The court might as well have let him off scott-free. This is an outrage!
Normally I'd try and structure this into an essay with a provocative lead question and finish it with an anecdote, but I'm too pissed off.
In good news, Westboro Baptist Church is forced to pay $10.9 Million to the family of a dead soldier whose funeral he picketed. Serves the closet yaoi-fanboys right.
This has been going on since there have been hollywood stars and musicians. Since I always seem to have my head stuck in the past, being a geneologist is fun, but one learns a lot of history with it... Nobles, Kings, etc have gotten away with just about everything, from murder to sex with their siblings. (YUCK!!!)
Brittney has to go to parenting classes, she has absolutely NO IDEA how to connect with her kids. I'm glad to see she's not getting away with P3. (Piss Poor Parenting.) It seems it takes a good scandal to knock some 'superstars' off of their pedastals. But then again, O.J. got off.
If the southern end of my home state, California, slid into the vast Pacific, what would the tabloids and mainstream news media's have to report? I think scandal with sordid details will outsell any news event.
By the way, Westboro Church has a net worth of approximately $3 million. Winning a $10.9 million lawsuit and collecting any of the lawsuit are two vastly different things, just ask the Ron Goldman family. O. J. will not pay up, and his assests are secure in a federally mandated fund the Goldmans can't touch. I wouldn't want to be anyplace near O. J. when Karma catches up with him.
