On September 30, 2005, a series of cartoons inflamed Muslims around the world for depicting the "Prophet" Muhammad. In dishonor of these batshit insane extremists, September 30 has been henceforth declared "International Blasphemy Day" by all nonbelievers.
To me, it seems absolutely appropriate to hold a Blasphemy Day Art Contest! That's right, I want your most blasphemous works of art. Here are the contest rules:
- One submission per artist.
- Each submission is going to be evaluated based on how offensive it is to theists. Therefore, anything that isn't illegal in the United States goes.
- This includes highly pornographic images. I half expect to see my inbox flooded with FSM/Jesus/Muhammad/Moses/Krisha/Mithra tentacle rape yaoi.
- All submissions must be in .PNG file format. If this is absolutely not possible, I will accept .JPG. No .BMP files, though.
- The best submissions will be posted on Kobra's Corner with proper credit given.
- The amount of credit given is up to the artist who submits the work. If there are safety concerns, just ask me to label it anonymous.
The contest prize is $50 USD and will be awarded via PayPal to the best and most blasphemous work. To enter, send an email to kobrasrealm@gmail.com with the subject, "Blasphemy Contest." Be sure to include the following information:
- Required
- Your PayPal email address, if you desire the $50 prize.
- Your submission.
- Optional
- Your name
- Your website/blog/DeviantArt account (or any combination of those three)
The deadline is September 30, 2009 at 5:00 PM EDT October 2, 2009 at 11:59 PM EDT.
Legal stuff: By submitting a piece of artwork to the Blasphemy Contest, you authorize me to retain a digital copy of this work of art on my server and to display it on the contest results page. It shall not be used otherwise without the artist's permission. The contest results page will be clearly marked "Not Safe For Work." You may submit a previously created work of art, as long as it is your own creation.
Update (9-28-2009)
Due to a nearly unanimous surge of complaints, the deadline has been pushed back to October 2, 2009 at 11:59 PM EDT. Though the contest is still for Blasphemy Day, the contest is being readjusted to allow people time to create their vile and blasphemous beauties.
