I opened CNN.com today and my gaze was met by this little jewel:

First off, they aren't "undocumented workers," they're "illegal immigrants." Call them what they are.
The news article goes on to say:
The 380-page bill, which comes after nearly three months of negotiations, would give immediate work authorization to undocumented workers who arrived in the United States before January 1, 2007. Heads of household would have to return to their home country within eight years, and they would be guaranteed the right to return. Applicants would also have to pay a $5,000 penalty.
So this is how our politicians plan on solving immigration: giving them what they want but making them pay money. Do you know what kind of message that'll give the other 190 countries whose citizens have to migrate here legally? "Just come here, break whatever international treaties and border-control laws-- y'know, the laws that put normal people in jail for large portions of their lives-- then just pay $5,000 and maybe return to your home country for a short visit and you can stay here."
Some of you are probably reading this saying, "Oh big fucking deal. It's just a minor news story," but this is actually relevant to the future of every American-- especially the hard-working ones. I'll be damned if I'm forced to go what people in California through Texas already are going through: being unable to get a job because an illegal immigrant already occupies it.
We have to draw the line somewhere. How are High School students supposed to get money for their luxuries or to save for college if they can't get a job? How are they going to feel if everywhere they go to shop; they're pressured to speak a foreign language in their own country and they're insulted by not being allowed to have the same job as these "undocumented workers," as these politcally-correct newscasters like to call them?
The answer is deceptively simple: there will be another civil uprising. There are too many hard working Americans and too many racist Americans to allow this to go peacefully. I'm not supporting a civil uprising-- I'm no rebel, but I see it in the future. And news stories like this just make it more glaringly obvious.
Politicians need to pull their heads out of their asses and realize they're capable of fucking the entire country over. You're supposed to represent the people-- not your own agendas. If enough people disagree with the government, there will be hell to pay.
