Chances are, you probably know a pressifist. Pressifists are people who spend every waking moment watching overly sensationalized news media, reading shitty gossip/fashion/make-up magazines, reading romance novels, and striving to be politically correct in everything they do. These fucking idiots think opinions are more important than facts, violence is never permissible, and that ideas shouldn't be criticized.
Pressifists are killing America, if not the world. If it weren't for the press giving them all their thoughts and opinions, these people would be catatonic. They don't want anyone outside of Active Duty Military to own a gun anywhere in America for any reason because they think that will stop murders from happening, and they want to limit free speech to make sure nobody's feelings are hurt. What's next? Dividing the dance floor into cubicles so nobody gets their toes stepped on? Give me a fucking break.
If this sounds like someone you know, give them a reality check: The world isn't a safe, sane, stable environment under the control of an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving being who wants to look out for your personal best interest. War happens, murder happens, rape happens, fights happen, injuries happen, disease happens, injustice happens, shit happens. It's healthy for society to consist of people who disagree so we don't all look at reality through one flawed perspective. Ideas need to be criticized-- religious or otherwise-- so that we can determine if it's a good idea or a shitty one. If it's a good idea, share it with your strongest critics. If it's a bad idea, scrap it.
I'm not against the media. I think it does a decent job at getting the facts out in the eye of the public. However, the over-sensationalized bullshit needs to die. For example, I was reading an article in a dated* edition of People magazine while my mom was at her VA appointment, and one of the articles that wasn't about a bullshit celebrity caught my eye. It was about senseless murder. "Awesome," I thought, "An article that doesn't suck." Then the editors shat over their chance of ever being taken seriously by naming the victims in the superfluous "Mary Cuntbag, mother, 33" format. Anyone with an IQ above 60 can conject based on their ages, the fact that they have the same last name, and the fact that they all live in the same house that it was a family that was slaughtered. So why did they include this unnecessary information? To appeal to the weak emotional side of the reader. Lame.
Neither I nor anyone else whose opinion matters gives a shit if you're in touch with your emotions. In fact, we hate you for being such a weak-minded, thin-skinned sack of shit. Life sucks, then you pay $10. Don't like it? End it.
The media needs to stop selling these morons the idea that their feelings matter. Oh, sure, there will be a loss in sales if these news organizations stop appealing to everyone's emotional, politically correct side, but that loss in revenue will easily be offset by adding a weekly pornographic edition. Before anyone objects to this idea, give it a chance. After a year or two, you'll be too desensitized to give a shit, and just maybe you'll stop crying every time life doesn't go your way.
In closing, fuck pressifists and pressifist enablers!
* I forgot to write down the edition and page number. Any People fans want to fill me in? One of the victims was named Kevin, and the only survivor was the older sister.
