Turn Out the Lights, the Party's Over!

QUOTE (CNN)
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says his party is going to launch an "off the hook" public relations campaign that will update the GOP’s image by translating it to "urban-suburban hip-hop settings."

In light of recent events, I can no longer remain impartial to the two major political parties in this country. So let me be the first to say THIS IS FUCKING STUPID!

The Republicans got slaughtered in the 2008 election, and implementing shallow marketing schemes is the best strategy they've come up with? Fucking incredible. It would make more sense to focus their efforts on reevaluating their values to be more in line with progressive America. Instead, the Republican party is slowly morphing into a steaming pile of shit, consisting of old fossils who are too stubborn and irrational to realize the ideas they've held onto for the past seventy years don't work. There is no better example of what I mean than Republican economics:

Claim: "Give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans, entrepreneurs, and business owners; and everyone will prosper."

Why it's stupid: There is a lot of assumption in this idea. Namely, that the wealthiest Americans will use the money they save on their taxes and invest it by creating more jobs in their companies, investing in education, or otherwise not wasting it on stupid shit. Since this does not happen 100% of the time without exception, the assumption is not one I would call "safe". Alternatively, giving tax breaks to the working man will result in more money going into the economy (The lower a person's income, the higher percentage they spend on consumable goods.) and inevitably to the wealthy Americans.

Whereas this Republican tax policy rely on an unsafe assumption and don't always benefit the middle-class worker, the relevant Democrat tax policy does not rely on any assumptions and benefit everyone.

Logically, trickle down economics is an exercise in fallacy.

If I were a Republican party leader, I would immediately shitcan these ideas and devise new plans to obtain the desired goal (no unnecessary taxes) without completely dicking over the entire country in the process. I like to make sense. Your move, Steele!

QUOTE (CNN)
"We need messengers to really capture that region — young, Hispanic, black, a cross section…” he said in an interview published Thursday. “We want to convey that the modern-day GOP looks like the conservative party that stands on principles. But we want to apply them to urban-surburban hip-hop settings."

Hip-hop? Your solution to having piss-poor party policies is to appeal to the denomination of numbskulls that listens to hip-hop? That's it! Put a fork in the GOP; it's finished.

Hip-hop fans are the dumbest of the dumb. You couldn't invent a larger population of shallow, trendy morons who are only capable of thinking collectively through their penile inferiority if you wrote fiction for a living.

So to any current Republicans who might be reading this: There is no shame in voting Independent.
