Questions the Presidential Candidates Will Never Get Asked
With the presidential elections approaching fast, now is a time of propaganda and smear campaigns. Debates air on CNN almost every day, yet the questions I want answered are never asked. As a gamer who has an interest in politics, I feel that if I can't get the candidates to answer these questions, I can at least get the people who read my website to think about them.
For All Candidates:
"The statistical average age of the 'gamer' population is 33 years old. With that in mind, what will you do to protect the adults' right to play video games their way and to protect the artists who make these games from censorship?"
For Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney:
"According to recent statistics, about 1 in every 7 Americans does not believe in a god (or gods) or have a spiritual outlook on the world-- this includes atheists, agnostics, etc. What will you do to protect their rights to be free of unwarranted religious pressures such as by our educational system?"
For Rudy Giuliani:
"I'll keep this one short: Are you really aware that illegal immigrants are breaking the law by coming to America?"
For All Candidates:
"How do you feel about the electoral college system?"
For the Democrats:
"Change change change. Now, let's change the tone of your god damn soapboxing: HOW will you change the way things are?"
For the Republicans:
"In the same sense that all dobermans are dogs but not all dogs are dobermans, helping the middle class will help business but helping business will not necessarily help the middle class. Why don't you focus your tax cuts on the little people instead of big business?"
For Barack Obama:
"Would you care to explain in detail and with citations how your foreign policy makes any sense at all?" Nevermind. I read something out of context.
If any of these questions were answered, one of two things would happen. Either:
a. The candidate who answered the question would lose all support because their opinion is wrong.
b. The candidate who answered the question would gain support because their opinion is reasonable.
But let's be realistic here; these questions will never be asked and the candidates will continue to ignore all but the most controversial issues.
