If you aren't familiar with affirmative action, I envy you.
Affirmative action is a fancy legal justification for employers to commit discrimination based on race, nationality, sex, or ethnicity; all under the guise of promoting equality.
For example, let's assume you're a white man and you're applying for a computer job in one of the pro-affirmative action states. The only other person who has applied for the job is a black woman. Logically, the employer should select the person who is most qualified for the job-- right?
Affirmative Action says, "No fucking way!"
States with Affirmative Action laws require businesses to maintain a certain quota of minorities. Regardless of how skilled you might be or how much higher your qualifications might be than the other applicant, the person who falls into more minority categories wins every time.
If a business chooses to hire the more-qualified applicant, the NAACP will be riding their asses within 2 weeks-- trying to shut the business down. If you ask me, that makes the NAACP worse than the Klu Klux Klan.

There are three kinds of people who support Affirmative Action, and all of them are directly benefited by it:
- Black "African American" workers-- for the aforementioned reasons.
- Feminists; these laws also require workers to maintain a quota of female workers (but strangely, I can't seem to find a specific required quota of male workers).
- Lawyers. Let's face it; lawyers are cashing in on Affirmative Action lawsuits.
Ironically, challengers of Affirmative Action laws are labeled as racist and run the risk of suffering boycotts from millions of morons who can't seem to understand that their attempt to promote "equality" result in white people being shafted because they weren't fortunate enough to be born into a minority family.
If that's not racist, I don't know what is.
