Schools and Businesses Should Be Closed on 9/11 and Pearl Harbor Day
What's more important to you, America? Reality or fantasy? The store I work for is only closed two days out of the year, and both of them are dates based on events that historians believe never happened: Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now, before you flip open your Bibles and fire off hateful emails, hear me out.
I personally believe we should have 9/11 and 12/7 off nationwide. We know for a fact that these events happened and they pertain to our country; not the beliefs of a religion that spills over into other countries. American holidays should concern America, not Christianity and a feast that never took place.
Some of you may disagree with me. That's fine; you're every bit unpatriotic as I am heathen. For you non xtians who disagree with me; why? Is it because Christmas and Thanksgiving are convenient for you? Do you believe we should just blindly follow tradition without realizing that falsehoods govern our lives? If so, you need to re-evaluate your priorities.
There's really nothing more to add. I will not work or attend school on 9/11 or 12/7 from this point forward (excluding today; it's too late to call in sick, I hate missing work, and my boss reads my website so she would know anyway).
